Christmas Lights In March

Innocent Husband put the Christmas lights back up in the backyard.

It’s something pretty to look at. I think I might add a few to the front….a few sparkles amidst the worry.

It’s a little thing, but I think we all need these little things right now.

Stay home, everyone. Stay home. We’ll get through this.

Stress Cleaning

How’s everyone doing?

I am stress-cleaning closets and rooms and packing stuff up to throw out and give away.

When I get worried, I have to organize and get rid of stuff. I know, very odd, it is what it is.

I’ve also recently attacked my garden because all the mess out there was bugging me, too, and I needed to get it in order.

Probably telling you too much about how my odd mind works.

Wishing you all well.

Snow In Oregon

Snow in Oregon on March 14. I can’t remember the last time this happened. A beautiful surprise amidst a worrisome time.

Wishing everyone well. These are photos from my garden.

Insomnia And All About Evie

Well, my insomnia seems to be getting the better of me lately and I need to listen to books to get to sleep. If you need to listen to books to sleep, too, ALL ABOUT EVIE, is now out in Audio.

ALL ABOUT EVIE is about Evie Lindsay who owns a bookstore in the San Juan Islands. She lives near her eccentric mother and two aunts who wear floppy, sequined, flowered hats and say and do outrageous things. Evie has struggled with premonitions her whole life…and a DNA test is about to turn that life upside down.

There’s a little romance in this story, too. I think we all need some romance about now.

Happy reading to all. Take care of yourselves!

A Cloud And A Pig

On another lighter note…

Yesterday I was reading, writing, and walking.

I saw this cloud and laughed.

I needed a little humor, I just didn’t know I was going to get it when I looked UP.

Yes, it looks like a pig.

Reminded me of Wilbur, in Charlotte’s Web.

On Tears and Laughter and Henry’s Sisters

Henry’s Sisters is the book I cried over the most as I wrote it.

It hit on a really hard personal loss I’d had. I was working through – and not very well – the death of my beloved father. But I wanted humor in my life at that time, too, so I blended both – the laughter and the tears, which so often go together in life, don’t they?

Henry’s Sisters is on sale for $3.99 on kindle.

Writing Burnout And A Creative Board

So today marks 13 months, one week and three days of writing burnout.

But, aha! Tonight, I got some writing mojo – energy back and made a creative board. It was very high tech: I used magazines and glue sticks.

Thought you might like to see it.

The writing process of a tired/coffee-drinking/daydreaming/mom/wife/ writer starts here.

Now if only a story will come to me…

Cat Woman

I’ve turned into an old cat woman.

Yes, my cat wanted to drink out of a glass so I helped him…what next?

He’ll sit at the table with me and I’ll hand him a fork?

I’ll tuck a pink napkin into his collar?

He’ll have his own cat and mouse salt and pepper shakers? It’s bad enough I talk to him and expect him to respond.
