If you need a book/gift for the holidays…
All About Evie: Evie Lindsay took a DNA test with her sister to find out more about their ancestors. That’s when everything fell apart.
The Man She Married: Natalie Shelton’s husband has lied to her about who he is, who he was, and where he came from. Other than that, he’s an excellent husband.
Happy Holidays, everyone. Be safe, stay home, read a book!

Innocent Husband is putting our Christmas lights up early this year because we need a little cheer.
We also want Santa to know exactly where he should land his sleigh.
We don’t want any reindeer getting all tangled up in the trees again.
How many of you are putting up lights early, too?

I look like this – a scary and stylish ghoul – as I’m tossing candy from six feet away into the trick or treaters’ bags.
And yet a little trick or treater, probably about three years old, dressed like a unicorn, stepped into my house so she could go upstairs and pet my cat.
The ghoul did not scare her.
Kids are so funny.

I voted!
We vote by mail here in Oregon and have done so for over 20 years. Your handy – dandy voters’ pamphlet arrives in the mail and about a week later your ballot arrives. It’s efficient, fair, and despite the fake hysteria and inane ranting about voter fraud, totally safe.
When I see people waiting in lines for hours to vote in other states, I am stunned. To me, this says that that particular state, or county, is working very hard to suppress the vote. They’re trying to make it so inconvenient and difficult to vote that some people can’t because they don’t have the time or energy to stand in line for hours, often in the rain, cold, and wind.
They work all day. They’re single parents. They’re not well. They’re taking care of an ill relative or their kid is sick. There are MANY legitimate reasons why people can’t wait in long lines, and that is inherently unfair to them and to our country.
Voting, for everyone, should be simple and inclusive for all – as it is here in Oregon.
We even have designated drop boxes so if you don’t want to mail your ballot back in through your mailbox, like I do, it is super easy and convenient to drop it off.
And I hope you don’t have to stand in long lines to do so.

This is how to fix a table during Covid.
During a family dinner, the dining room table I inherited from my late parents suddenly collapsed. Innocent Husband, Darling Laughing Son and Rebel Dancing Daughter and I caught it as it almost wobbled our plates into our laps.
It was quite exciting in a culinary sort of way.
It’s hard to get a carpenter out right now, so we “fixed” it. Who knew that Ritz Crackers and Grape Nuts would be so helpful?

After being covered in thick smoke for days, after our air clocked in as “hazardous,” after being stuck inside so our lungs wouldn’t fill with all sorts of toxins, it’s finally raining where I live in Oregon.
I think I will do a rain dance. I will look ridiculous, perhaps a blend of a robot and a spinning, grinning Tasmanian Devil but some things have to be done.
Wishing you rain if you need it…
