“Why? I like men. I like love. I like the idea of falling in love and being in love until you’re 80 and sitting on a balcony enjoying a year-long cruise around the world, holding your man’s hand. I think most women do, too. They want to believe that the man they’ve pictured in their minds is out there: a protective, chivalrous, kind, generous, funny, smart, really hot man who wants to be with them, gets who they are, and likes to travel and talk. A romance story allows the dream, it allows the feeling of falling in love vicariously. And, it’s an escape from real life, which can be tricky, stressful and exhausting. A little secret: I love writing the romance scenes in my books. It’s fun, often funny. I have never asked my husband what he thinks of my writing seductive scenes about hunky ranchers/writers/architects/reporters/doctors, but husbands don’t need to know everything, do they?”
